If you are having issues with finding a driver for a USB Drive, here's a trick.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\usbstor.inf_
and get the latest directory, copy the contents to
C:\Windows\Inf
Reinsert your USB stick, it should detect it now and install it.

ReplyDeleteSo the drivers Windows needs are actually on the system, but Windows can't use them because they're not in the right place. Classic Microsoft. Thanks so much, I spent hours trying to get a new hub to work, thinking I had to upgrade my entire USB stack, but this simple maneuver did the trick.
